Commercial Construction Sales Representative
PSC Distribution / Studio H2O
The Commercial Construction Sales Representative is responsible for developing new commercial business, building long-term customer relationships, preparing competitive quotations, and managing projects from initial customer contact through successful completion. This role serves as the primary point of contact for commercial customers and works closely with contractors, municipalities, institutions, industrial facilities, vendor partners, and internal teams to deliver exceptional customer service and project outcomes. The position requires a relationship-driven approach, strong project management skills, self-motivation, and a commitment to representing PSC Distribution with professionalism, reliability, and customer-focused excellence. This position involves regular travel to customer locations and job sites within the assigned territory; however, travel is structured to allow the employee to return home each evening.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development
- Prospect and develop new commercial accounts through networking, cold calling, contractor visits, and relationship-building activities.
- Identify opportunities with contractors, industrial facilities, municipalities, institutions, and other commercial customers.
- Maintain regular face-to-face customer contact and job site visits.
- Develop and manage a sales pipeline to support revenue growth and business objectives.
- Represent PSC Distribution at customer meetings, training sessions, and industry events.
Sales & Quoting
- Meet with customers to understand project requirements and product needs.
- Prepare accurate and competitive quotations for commercial projects.
- Follow up on quotations to maximize awarded business.
- Work with vendors and manufacturer representatives to obtain competitive pricing and project support.
- Negotiate pricing within company guidelines while maintaining profitability goals.
Project Management
- Manage awarded projects from order entry through final completion.
- Monitor project schedules and proactively communicate updates regarding product availability, lead times, and project changes.
- Coordinate with Outside Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Operations teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Resolve project-related issues involving product availability, substitutions, shipping and customer concerns.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships through exceptional customer service.
- Serve as a trusted resource by providing product knowledge and technical solutions.
- Conduct regular account reviews and identify additional sales opportunities.
- Respond promptly to and professionally to customer inquiries and concerns.
- Provide reliable follow-through that strengthens PSC Distribution’s reputation and customer loyalty.
Vendor Relations
- Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, vendor partners, and manufacturer representatives.
- Participate in vendor meetings, training programs, and joint sales calls.
- Stay informed on new products, technologies, and market trends.
- Leverage vendor resources to support customer projects and business development efforts.
Education / Experience:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial sales, construction, plumbing, HVAC, distribution, industrial sales, or related industry experience preferred.
- Experience preparing project quotations, managing commercial projects, and developing customer relationships preferred.
- CRM and customer account management experience preferred.
- Additional education or training in sales, construction technology, or a related field is preferred.

Physical Demands / Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend and reach throughout the workday.
- Frequent use of hands and arms for computer work, phone use, and communication activities.
- Ability to travel regularly to customer locations, job sites, vendor meetings, and industry events.
- Day travel is required; overnight travel is not typically expected, allowing the employee to return home each evening.
- Ability to drive for extended periods within assigned territories.
- Occasional lifting and carrying samples, product literature, and sales materials up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to navigate construction sites, industrial facilities, warehouses, and customer locations.
- Visual and auditory ability required for reviewing documents, presentations, and engaging in conversations
Work Environment:
