Position Details - Experienced team of physicians, APPs and support staff with low turnover and excellent patient outcomes - Full-time, hospital employed opportunity - Well supported by all specialties except peds psychiatry, cardiothoracic surgery & interventional neurology - 24/7 hospitalist program responsible for adult and pediatric inpatients - Schedule managed locally - flexible scheduling team trades amongst themselvesFully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination - St. Lukes Regional Medical Center serves 175,00 people in a three-state region of Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota Opportunity Details - Annual visit volume = 31,000 - Average # of patients per day = 89 - Average 1.5-1.9 patients per hour - 40 hours of physician coverage & 27 hours of APP coverage per day - Work schedule = 12-15 ten hour shifts per month - Level 3 Trauma Center - 22 bed ED + 12 bed Clinical Decision Unit (managed by APPs) + 10 bed fast track + 2 trauma bays - Scribes available - No call, good work/life balance - Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve - Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care - Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment - Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills Qualifications - MD or DO - BE/BC in Emergency Medicine - Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa - Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physicians field of practice - Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
