GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision, the Department Assistant will perform administrative tasks associated with supporting the everyday operations within KRCUI. As this involves constant contact with administrators, staff, students, and the general public, superior customer service skills will be required. The successful candidate is an individual who demonstrates exemplary attention to detail and the ability to consistently achieve accuracy in all aspects of their work.
The typical work schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm.UNIVERSAL CORE COMPETENCIES:

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Oversee front desk processes and support the efficient daily flow and operations of the Main Office.
- Provide positive and professional customer service to students, faculty, staff, and with frequent interruptions.
- Greet and check in students/visitors for appointments and walk-in visits.
- Answer and/or re-direct basic inquiries from internal and external customers either via phone calls, email or in person.
- Perform various office clerical duties including filing, typing, scanning, receiving/distributing bookstore orders, sorting/distributing mail, etc.
- Assist with troubleshooting and providing support with events including audio visual and presentation needs.
- Perform other related work duties and responsibilities as assigned.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

Position involves Constant (67-100%) sitting in an office, as well as talking on the telephone and in person, hearing repetitive motion, viewing computer screen and other kinds of close visual work. Frequent (34-66%) walking, standing, and grasping. Occasional (10-33%) reaching, lifting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and exertion of up to 20 pounds.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of relevant experience using standard office software and equipment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
- Associate’s degree or higher.
- Two years or more of relevant office experience.
- Relevant experience in higher education, working directly with students, faculty, and staff.
