Dave Schmitt Construction a Cedar Rapids, Iowa based union excavating and grading company is seeking a Utility Crew Foreman.

The ideal candidate would have experience with the following:  

• installation of watermain
• sanitary sewer
•  storm sewer

Duties:

• The Utility Crew Foreman will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction projects ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety regulations.
• Must be able to operate heavy equipment, read and follow blueprints and direct a crew of 4.
• Daily paperwork consists of, but not limited to, JHA’s, time tracking of crew hours, production tracking of quantities installed.
• The work area is generally within a 60-mile radius of Cedar Rapids.

Qualifications:

• Clean driving record.
• Pass drug screen, MVR and background check.
• Ability to work in a confined space.
• Join the local union.
